Prestige Mobile Paintworks is a mobile car paint repair service covering the UK. This page explains what happens to the details you send us, in plain English.
The short version: we only ask for what we need to price your repair, and we never sell it. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is doing, and we advertise on Google, so we ask permission to set those cookies first. If you say no, no analytics or advertising cookie is set and the site works exactly the same.
Who we are
Prestige Mobile Paintworks ("we", "us") is the data controller for the information described on this page. We operate as a mobile service across the UK.
You can reach us about anything on this page by phone or WhatsApp on 07784 628096.
What we collect
The only information we actively collect is what you type into the estimate form on our website:
- Your name — so we know who we're speaking to.
- Phone number and email address — so we can send you an estimate and arrange a time.
- Postcode — to confirm you're inside our coverage area and to plan travel.
- Car registration, make and model — to identify the correct factory paint code so we can colour-match your repair.
- Damage details (optional) — anything you'd like to tell us about the damage.
We do not ask for, and you should never send us, payment card details, bank details or copies of identity documents through this website.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the repair. Under UK GDPR our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us for an estimate, and we cannot provide one without these details — moving to performance of a contract if you book the work in.
We will not add you to a marketing list, and we will not contact you about anything unrelated to your enquiry.
The analytics and advertising measurement described under Cookies and tracking is different: that runs on consent, which we ask for before any analytics or advertising cookie is set and which you can withdraw at any time.
Who handles your data
We keep our supply chain deliberately short. Two services are involved in running this website:
- Netlify
- Hosts this website and processes the estimate form, then forwards your submission to us by email. Netlify also keeps standard server logs, which include visitors' IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
- Google Fonts
- Supplies the typefaces used on this site. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No fonts are used for tracking and we receive no data back from Google.
- Google Analytics (only if you agree)
- Tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where in the country they are, so we know which parts of the site are worth keeping. If — and only if — you allow it, Google receives your IP address (which Google shortens before storing), the pages you viewed and basic details of your device and browser. We have not enabled advertising personalisation or Google Signals on this data. Google acts as a data controller in its own right for this, under its own privacy policy, and may transfer the data outside the UK.
- Google Ads (only if you agree)
- Measures our advertising. If — and only if — you allow it, Google receives your IP address, details of the advert you clicked and the fact that you reached our thank-you page. Google acts as a data controller in its own right for this, under its own privacy policy, and may transfer the data outside the UK. Nothing about your repair, your car or your contact details is ever sent to Google.
Beyond that, your details are seen only by us. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not pass it to marketing companies, lead-generation companies or insurers.
Cookies and tracking
We measure two things, and we ask before we measure either of them. The first is how the site is used — how many people arrive and which pages they actually read — so we know what is worth keeping. The second is our advertising: we advertise this business on Google Search, and to know which adverts are worth paying for we need to see when a click on an advert leads to someone sending us an enquiry.
No cookies until you agree. When you first arrive you'll see a banner with two equally available choices. We use Google Tag Manager with Google's Consent Mode: Tag Manager loads on every page, but it starts with analytics and advertising storage switched off. Until you choose "Allow", no analytics or advertising cookie is set and Google only receives cookieless signals — that a page was viewed, with basic technical details such as your browser, IP address and the page address — which cannot be used to recognise you on a later visit.
- If you allow it
- We load Google's tag. It sets Google Analytics cookies (named
_ga*), which last up to 2 years and let Google recognise a returning visitor as the same person rather than a new one, and Google Ads cookies (named_gcl_*), which last up to 90 days. Each page you view is counted. If you go on to send us an enquiry, the tag tells Google that an enquiry happened and which advert it came from. Google is told that you enquired — never your name, phone number, email, postcode, registration or any detail of the damage. - If you decline
- Consent stays switched off: no analytics or advertising cookie is set, the standalone Google tag is never loaded, and Google only receives the cookieless signals described above. Every part of the site behaves identically. You are not asked again unless you clear your browser storage.
Your answer is remembered in your browser's own local storage rather than in a cookie, so declining does not itself require one. Beyond Google Analytics we use no other analytics tools, and we use no session recording, no social media pixels and no advertising networks other than Google Ads.
You can change your mind whenever you like — it is exactly as easy to withdraw as it was to give:
Withdrawing consent stops any further measurement immediately. To clear cookies already set, use your browser's own settings, or Google's advertising controls at myadcenter.google.com.
How long we keep it
Google Ads cookies expire on their own within 90 days of being set, and we only ever see totals in our Google Ads reports — never a record of an individual visitor.
Estimate enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where we have carried out a repair, we keep the job record for up to 6 years, which is the period we may need it for tax records and for any guarantee or dispute about the work.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate details corrected;
- ask us to delete your data, where we have no ongoing need to keep it;
- object to our use of your data, or ask us to restrict it;
- withdraw any consent you've given.
To exercise any of these, contact us on 07784 628096. We'll respond within one month and there's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping your data secure
This site is served only over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. We apply a content security policy and related protections to reduce the risk of the site being tampered with, and we limit access to enquiry emails to the people who need to act on them.
Children
Our service is aimed at vehicle owners and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
